On
Saturday, June 6, the Upper Saddle River Recreation Commission held its
6th Annual Upper Saddle River Youth Triathlon for all children ages 8-14.
The
youth triathlon incorporated swimming, biking and running. The children
began their swim at the Saddle River Valley Swim & Tennis
Club, biked to Lions Park, and finished the running portion of the triathlon
at Lions Park. The swimming, biking and running distances were different
for the two separate age groups.
In
order to get the kids involved in the triathlon, the Recreation Commission
organized a T-Shirt
Design Contest for all children that live
or go to school in Upper Saddle River. First prize for this contest was
bike and the winning design was put on the triathlon t-shirt.
Raffles,
food and prizes were set up in Lions Park at the finish line. Thanks
to all sponsors and volunteers.

Justin
Linetski Wins 2009 T-Shirt Contest
The
Upper Saddle River Youth Triathlon Committee has selected Justin Linetski
as the winner of this year’s Youth
Triathlon T-shirt Contest. With over 25 entries it was a very difficult
decision by the Triathlon Committee. Justin will receive a new bicycle,
compliments of Cyclesport in Park Ridge. The Committee would like to
thank all of those children that participated in this years contest.
All of the pictures will be on display at the Youth Triathlon finish
line at Lions Park on Saturday, June 6 th.

Aurora
Abzug Wins T-Shirt Contest
The
Upper Saddle River Youth Triathlon Committee has selected Aurora Abzug
as the winner of this year’s Youth Triathlon T-shirt Contest.
